2026, the year of the famillage
In 2026, we aim to establish the true potential of the famillage concept.
After 17 years of hands-on experience and a wealth of anecdotal evidence, we're ready for a scientific approach!

282 young men and women in 49 countries are keen to study all aspects of famillage life.
All of them were raised in a Global Natives family. All grew up with a famillage. They speak three languages or more.
They are currently preparing to write their master thesis or an equivalent thereof within a wide range of academic interests:
They have studied (or are studying still) in fields like general and curative education, special pedagogy and nursery teaching, linguistics, general medicine, clinical child and adolescent psychology, family therapy, paediatric care, speech therapy, ergotherapy, behavioural science, education design, school administration, youth services, public administration, anthropology, journalism and political science.

Towards the end of 2024, we extended an invitation to all member families, letting them know what we were planning.
Out of thousands of applications and interviews, we established these 282 matches.
The interests and ambitions, the time schedules and academic requirements of these 152 men and 130 women tally with the goals we want to achieve. By March 2027 we aim to have a great number of answers to a comprehensive catalogue of questions, and they will have the data and the material needed for their master thesis. The majority of the studies they will conduct are designed to follow up on all (or most) participating kids and their families, ideally for decades to come.
Starting in March 2026, after thorough preparation and many meetings, both online and in person, we're ready to go!

The potential of the famillage concept, in-depth!
If this is your first visit here, and you are not yet familiar with the Club's work, here are a few links to get to know the basics: Where, when and why the famillage idea was originally conceived - frankly, this is essential.
A first look at the bandwidth of its possibilities. Another key element: what famillages can do in not-the-norm situations.
Finally, two selected case studies: The Story of Eddie, who didn't even know he might have greater expectations.
And the Story of Isabella and Jens, who had ambitious plans and their famillages were there to make them happen.

What are we looking at?
How does the entire spectrum of opportunities - ranging from long cherished ambitions to true serendipity - develop?
How much more curious are kids when there are no financial and/or organizational barriers?
What measurable effects does a famillage have on factors like self-confidence, the courage to try something new,
the ability and willingness to adapt to new environments, the readiness to seek new mentors?
How does the low threshold of having native speaking friends affect a child's eagerness to learn a language?
What are the compared (with/without famillage) likelihoods of wanting to learn a third or even a fourth language?
What are the benefits of having "famillage siblings" to an only child? And how about large families?
How do relationships between parents and children develop in comparison? Are there more activities together?
Are there measurable benefits in having language partners very early in life, and what are the benchmarks?
..... There are over 120 additional questions already in the catalogue. But you'll get the idea, right?
Finally, one of our dearest topics wants to be listed here too: humour.
Humour is an essential part of everything we do. It is the lubricant in every famillage engine.
It is a key ingredient of the personal chemistry between families, that's why you find it in most family profiles.
Humour is indispensable in education and a superpower when we aim for true language mastership: WIT.
Check out the links, it will blow your minds what wit can do to learning!
