Why do so many teenagers long to go and see the world and only a tiny percentage really does it and spends a school year abroad? Why do so many parents consider sending their kids off to language camps during the holidays and end up putting the idea off for some time in the future?
Because these plans involve a lot of money. And they have more often than not more rules and regulations than choices to offer. Because there are so many "what if" questions involved and not many satisfying answers to go with it. (here's some enlightenment on the student exchange question)
Schools and what they do are standardised in every aspect. But a child is not born according to norms and standards. Many intelligent and inspired minds have concerned themselves with this sad mismatch - see Sir Ken Robinson's TED talk here!
As we know: ! Not-the-norm is the majority
The un-normed child stands for all our children and for how we once were, unique and in no need to be standardised. With all our special needs and special talents, with our unique handicaps and unique abilities, with our rare conditions and exceptional ambitions.
Shared Mindspace is our strongest program, it truly caters for individual wants and needs!
No program can provide such a custom-tailored scenario to learn and experience. It caters for exceptional talents, for very specific fields of interest, for unusual matches, special needs and unorthodox combinations.
It caters for the highly talented and for the truly curious, for the handicapped and for the particularly motivated, for the shy and for the adventurous, for the budget-conscious and for the daredevils.
Because Shared Mindspace lets you pick your family, school and with it the general setup of your exchange it lets you build on multiple strengths at once. Like practising your French and taking advanced ballet lessons, like picking up Portuguese and learning a trade, like taking painting lessons in a tri-lingual environment, like getting a perfect exchange scenario between two talented girls in wheelchairs or perhaps like playing soccer in a challenging team whilst preparing for the entrance exam to medical school some 7000 miles from home.
The more we are - and we are over 300.000 now - the better the match for your kids!
Building strengths is what The Good Mondays Society is all about -
