Why folks join us
Naturally we want to know from new member families what their motives for joining our community are. Our application form is the first step in that process. Once we have welcomed them to the Club we ask them to name and rank their three most important motives. What we get is a mirror of national and international politics.
The Brexit referendum in the UK in June 2016 and the election of Donald Trump in the US in November 2016 resulted in the two sharpest rises in new applications we have experienced to this day. And these two milestones in history also mark a turning point for many families world wide: Their reasons for raising their children with a global mindset have shifted. Migration and rising nationalism have changed the way parents think and act.
So what really is the most important motive for becoming a Global Native family?
For the first seven years of family partnerships the answer was LANGUAGES.
Today attitude ranks higher than benefit. Particularly with families in dread of nationalism.
