David Carlisle and his wife Vanessa both grew up in Richmond, West London.
They first fell in love with the music of Mozart at Glyndebourne before they were even married. Today they have three very musically gifted daughters and all five set the focus of their annual holidays on culture and even more so on classical music.

The GlobalNatives.Club brought them together with the Hofer family in Rosenheim in Bavaria, just an hour's drive from Salzburg and its summer festival of worldwide renown. Since flights are frequent between Salzburg and London, both families benefit a great deal from this friendship. Both in Rosenheim and in Richmond, there was always the option to leave some of the kids in a grandmother's care when they were too young for such a long evening’s performance. With the support of such favourable conditions, they have been able to enjoy wonderful music and delightful evenings for many years by now. As a more-than-welcome bonus, the English girls know a lot about Austria and Germany and the three Bavarian youngsters all speak excellent English. |
Of course, as with most Global Natives partnerships, families find a wealth of additional assets once their initial purposes have been catered for. Global Natives partners are - amongst other things - excellent contacts to help you find internships and chances for on-the-job experiences during summer holidays.
The Hofers and the Carlisles make good use of this. |
