Are grandparents meant to be our baby​sitters,
                                     caretakers ​and billpayers?   No.

The three-generation-model works best ​in families who love ​their grannies and granddads ​as smart and experienced self-sufficient people with a fulfilled life of their own. Grandparenting is their joy. ​They love it. But they don't ​rely ​on it ​for a purpose in life. 

Grandparents are not a service.
We never take them for granted.

Appreciation. The best practice model.


​"What can you do for us?" ​is clearly not the right question.
Instead, we ask: "Can we invite you to be part of this?" and 
"How would you like to be involved? Can we ask or will you offer?" We aim for a ​win-win situation for all.
And we acknowledge that learning between generations
​works both ways.

Holding the people you are closest to in high esteem is the key to a functioning family life. Sounds soooooo obvious. And yet, it is anything but a foregone conclusion. 
Many families still do take their grandmas and grandpas for granted. That's not a good strategy and, just as relevant, it is not a good way to teach kids how to treat their parents in years to come. 
In the Global Natives community, the majority of families say their three-generation-partnerships work really well for them, they consider their grandparents' involvement indispensable. Many members regret not having that option.
