Tom from Sweden had been an ardent admirer of the Latin American style of playing football for all his life. Since he learned some basic Spanish in evening classes he also encouraged his two sons to study Spanish at school.
Tom's family joined GlobalNatives.Org in 2011 and soon became friends with the Garcia family in Cordoba. The whole family is enthusiastic as this connection develops further: they have already been in Argentina twice by now and not only for the football and the language! |

Eric, Tom's younger son is now studying at Cordoba university.
In exchange the family has arranged for Valeria, the only daughter of the Garcia family, to come to Sweden as their au pair. Her parents know she is very happy there and whilst she’s not really picking up a lot of Swedish she is certainly improving her English (the Swedes are very good English speakers and love to practice !). |
