Twelve thoughts on raising kids

Show your kids what makes life worthwhile.

Give them peers who can be role models.

Use all your connections and abilities to that end.

Offer help as easily as you are willing to take it.

Be trustworthy, allow others the benefit of doubt.

Teach them: different is not wrong but different.

Teach them understanding and perceptiveness.

Be a role model (not a saint !) yourself and live up to it.

If you do not have the right contacts: find them.

Accept friendship graciously, give it back generously.

Explain why indifference is not tolerance.

And show them that only open minds find hidden treasures.
