The GlobalNatives.Club nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2016
Six Norwegian gentlemen have nominated us for the Nobel Peace Prize 2016! This could mean that an online community may be considered for this award for the first time in its history.
Among the six nominators are two members of the Norwegian parliament and one retired member of the Peace Research Institute Oslo (www.prio.org). All of them have teenage grandchildren who want to learn, live and act with competence as global citizens.
The nomination letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo states:
"We hereby nominate for the Nobel Peace Prize 2016 the GlobalNatives.Club, an internet-based exchange for knowledge and experience, because its platform opens up the world of global education to the general public. The Global Natives community exchanges opportunities on a give-and-take basis between families and turns international relations from an elitist privilege into an option for anyone with a desire to learn. Their novel system makes learning across borders available to all levels of society, independent of income and status.
We firmly believe that as a result an ever growing percentage of future politicians, entrepreneurs, thinkers and leaders will have learned early in life to appreciate diversity of thought and culture. It will - through its bandwidth and numbers - have a fundamental long term impact on international understanding and global peace."
We are deeply grateful for this honour and will do our best to live up to it!
